Shepherd’s Pie Pinoy Style – The Art Of Letting Go

When a chapter in your life comes to an end, the only good way to go is to be strong. To be strong for the person you love and to be strong for the suffering person inside you. Surely, letting go of the person you love is oh so painfully hard, but if you love that person dearly and you still think that staying away from that person is the only solution, then you may be right. Think of the past and see to it that all factors leading you to your decision is enough. Why do you have to go? If you stay, would you be happier? If you go, could it be more painful than staying? Make sure that you have done everything to save the relationship before you let go. There will always come a time that you will doubt your decision, but if you know that you have done everything then you will not have to look back. Decide what’s right for you. You will be the one to decide as well as the one to face all the consequences of your action. I am not asking you to be selfish, but to know what is right for you is the only way to be happy. And when you are finally happy, then everything around you will come to its right place. You have to love yourself first before you can love anybody else. That’s a factor that most people neglect to do. Therefore, the recipe I have for you is truly special. The Pinoy recipe for those who are brave enough to fight for their right to be finally happy. The Pinoy style Shepherd’s pie. xoxo-  your Sisig Master

½ cup butter
2 tbsp. oil
½ kl ground beef
5 cups of mashed potato
2 cups of mixed vegetables
1 cup of diced onion
1 cup of beef broth
worstershire sauce
salt and pepper and umami

  1. On a heated pan, pour the oil and add the butter immediately. The oil will only prevent the butter from burning.
  2. Add the onion and allow to cook till it’s translucent
  3. Add in the ground beef, and continue sautéing till its brownish color.
  4. Season the mixture with worstershire sauce, salt, pepper and umami. Pour the beef broth after seasoning.
  5. Let it simmer for 10 minutes or more if needed.
  6. Add in the mixed veggies for about 4 minutes
  7. Turn off the fire, and set the mixture aside until its cool enough.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a square-baking dish. Cover the entire mixture with mashed potato.
  9. In a 375 degree F, preheated oven, bake the final mixture.
  10. It may cook for about 25 to 30 minutes exactly.
  11. Serve and enjoy!
