Shepherd’s Pie Pinoy Style – The Art Of Letting Go

When a chapter in your life comes to an end, the only good way to go is to be strong. To be strong for the person you love and to be strong for the suffering person inside you. Surely, letting go of the person you love is oh so painfully hard, but if you love that person dearly and you still think that staying away from that person is the only solution, then you may be right. Think of the past and see to it that all factors leading you to your decision is enough. Why do you have to go? If you stay, would you be happier? If you go, could it be more painful than staying? Make sure that you have done everything to save the relationship before you let go. There will always come a time that you will doubt your decision, but if you know that you have done everything then you will not have to look back. Decide what’s right for you. You will be the one to decide as well as the one to face all the consequences of your action. I am not asking you to be selfish, but to know what is right for you is the only way to be happy. And when you are finally happy, then everything around you will come to its right place. You have to love yourself first before you can love anybody else. That’s a factor that most people neglect to do. Therefore, the recipe I have for you is truly special. The Pinoy recipe for those who are brave enough to fight for their right to be finally happy. The Pinoy style Shepherd’s pie. xoxo-  your Sisig Master

½ cup butter
2 tbsp. oil
½ kl ground beef
5 cups of mashed potato
2 cups of mixed vegetables
1 cup of diced onion
1 cup of beef broth
worstershire sauce
salt and pepper and umami

  1. On a heated pan, pour the oil and add the butter immediately. The oil will only prevent the butter from burning.
  2. Add the onion and allow to cook till it’s translucent
  3. Add in the ground beef, and continue sautéing till its brownish color.
  4. Season the mixture with worstershire sauce, salt, pepper and umami. Pour the beef broth after seasoning.
  5. Let it simmer for 10 minutes or more if needed.
  6. Add in the mixed veggies for about 4 minutes
  7. Turn off the fire, and set the mixture aside until its cool enough.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a square-baking dish. Cover the entire mixture with mashed potato.
  9. In a 375 degree F, preheated oven, bake the final mixture.
  10. It may cook for about 25 to 30 minutes exactly.
  11. Serve and enjoy!

Sweet and Sour Egg Surprise –Confused Much?

It’s been a while since I last wrote for my blog. You wanna know why? Well, just to update you guys, I have this “friend” who have been battling with herself and I tried my very best to be with her whenever she needs me or my advice. This friend of mine is suffering from the usual problem of girls who can’t decide what to do. The thing about girls is that they tend love too much and sometimes it gets too hard to let go when you have to, that all you can do is to accept everything including each pain that you will encounter along the way, which is a lot, if I may say so. So, what do a person do if you find yourself in a situation like that? One thing is for sure, you will surely learn from it. But, you just have to go through with it before you do.

You have to learn to let go of the person you love, if that person is not making any effort to love you back. That is the very sad part. You can give love and give love for as long as you can. But for how long would it last if the person you were giving your love to is not giving you enough in return? For my opinion, every single thing here on Earth is a two way street. Ying and Yang, up and down, left and right, true and false, black and white, husbands and wives, boyfriend and girlfriend, young and old, gay and lesbian, easy and hard, ugly and beautiful, slow and fast, move and stay, poor and rich etc etc etc! You cannot expect yourself to love forever without wanting to receive a bit of what you have worked hard for. So, stop fooling yourself and let go before you are old and gray, and you cannot do anything about it anymore. So, my recipe here is a dish for the confused – The sweet and sour egg surprise Pinoy recipe, for your sweet love that was returned by a sour response. The dish is fulfilling, but I can’t say if your suffering is. – xoxo your sisig master
