Grilled Burger ala Burgoo Recipe - Specially Made For My Son

It is my son’s birthday on September 24, and he’s turning 10 years old now. Wow! He’s growing up so fast! That’s how a lot of mothers see their sons and daughters. Even if they’ve grown up, we tend to still see them as the babies whom we can’t get enough of. I can still see how he smiles at me so lovingly, with eyes sparkling like sunshine, the light to my world that makes life worth living for. And now, he is turning to a wonderful boy, full of joy and hope for the world around him. As the known stage mother like I am, his favorite burger is my ultimate project on his 10th birthday. This recipe is my own version of grilled burger Burgoo recipe. Most would know that if the recipe is like a Burgoo burger, it must be good! It’s the recipe he loves so much and his all time favorite.

Ingredients:
here's my birthday boy!

Patty:
1 kl ground beef
¼ kl onion diced
Garlic minced
3 pieces of tasty bread, torn to pieces and soaked in 1 small can of evaporated milk
¼ breadcrumbs
salt, umami and pepper
A pinch of paprika
A few drops of worstershire sauce

Toppings:
Sliced tomatoes
Lettuce
Sliced cucumber
Ketchup
Mayo
Mustard

How This Ultimate Grilled Burger Burgoo Recipe is made:

  1. In a shallow bowl, mix all the ingredients for the patty. Adjust the amount of spices according to your taste. Just make sure that the burger absorbs each of the flavorings and all ingredients are distributed equally. Let it cool off in the fridge for a few minutes, to allow the beef to get all the flavors.
  2. Bring out the beef, and mold it into burger patties. You want to see a handful of beef on one patty, which is as big as the usual burger bun.
  3. Grill the burgers on medium fire. Before you set the patty onto the grill, make sure to gently press your thumb on its middle area. This process will allow the flavorings to settle on its middle and not spill out of the burger. In short, it’ll help enhance the flavor of the burger.
  4. Make sure all are well done because rare meat can cause stomachache to those who have sensitive tummies. (it did to me onetime L)
  5. Once done, then you can assemble the burger.
  6. Just put all the toppings and burger on a bun of your choice such as tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, mayo, ketchup, mustard etc. I will not indicate the amount you need to put since most would have their own preference on this. Mine should have a lot of mustard with hot sauce, and my kid’s would just have the patty and bun without all the toppings. (Like what I always say, you are always the boss)
  7. Serve and eat!

Whenever you prepare a dish like my ultimate burger ala Burgoo recipe, you should do it with love. All recipes are great, and all have their own highlights, but what will make your recipe stand out is how you prepare it. For me, my style is to prepare it with love. My thoughts are always on the people who will eat it later. It is not how hard I cook for them, but the fact that I made them smile just by taking a bite on my cookings. To those people out there who will cook for their love ones, make sure that you cook it with TLC, and each of your dishes will be like magic. – xoxo your sisig master

Better Than Jollibee Spaghetti Recipe – Tired Of Being Second Best

A girl emailed me for a love advice. Now, her dilemma is a bit common, and you may have heard your friends whining about it. Let’s just call her problem I-can’t-be-his-second-best-anymore-but-I-love-him kind of dilemma. Now, since that explains a lot, let’s go directly to the solution. If I were on that kind of situation, what I would do is to let that son of a *@#$% know that there is no one better than me on anything, anywhere. How do you do that, one may ask? Well, first is I would maintain my self-esteem. Please do not loose your self worth just because your man is not paying you much attention. It is not your fault. Do not think that you should be prettier or sexier. But, see to it that you feel beautiful, sexy and smart. That way, you will exude confidence and that will show him what he will loose once he continue on being a jerk to you. Girls, you have to remember that no one should let you down. If you think that your partner do not deserve your pretty ass, then walk away. Someone will soon deserve your love and you will be happier. Now, here is my better than Jollibee spaghetti recipe. Cook this for him or for yourself as a reward for being so damn good.

Ingredients:
½ butter
2 whole garlic (minced)
5 medium onion (minced)
1 medium green bell pepper (minced)
1/2 kl ground beef
1 kl tomato sauce
3pcs of dried laurel leaf (tear in tiny pieces)
salt and pepper
worstershire sauce
¼ kl sugar
grated cheese
500 grams cooked pasta

How A Better Than Jollibee Spaghetti Recipe Is Made:

  1. Sauté half of the garlic on butter. Pour a tablespoon of oil first before the butter to avoid burnt butter.
  2. Add in the onion
  3. Once butter is absorbed, you may add in the beef.
  4. Pour 1 cup of tomato sauce as soon as you put the beef.
  5. Add a bit of salt and pepper
  6. Continue sautéing until the meat absorbed the oil and tomato sauce. This should be done once you see that the oil is separated from the meat.
  7. Once sure that the oil is separated from it, then you may now add the remaining tomato sauce. Do not stop stirring until it boils.
  8. While it’s boiling, then you can add all other ingredients such as the garlic, salt and pepper, worstershire sauce, sugar and dried basil leaf except the cheese.
  9. Continue stirring until sauce is thick.
  10. Check the taste if it needs more salt, pepper and worstershire sauce. Make adjustments if needed.
  11. Once sauce is thick, add in the grated cheese.
  12. Serve on top of the cooked pasta. Top with grated cheese.

This better than Jollibee spaghetti recipe is a food reward for you girls out there that are tired of being his second best. Love is something that should make you happy. If not, then what’s the point right? Make sure your man deserves you. If he does, then always find the time to make him happy. If he doesn’t make you happy and there is nothing you can do, then be kind enough to tell him that first and walk away.  -xoxo your sisig master

Do you remember your first date? It’s an exciting time for a person, especially a girl to dress up and be the best she can be on that day. An hour is a not enough just to do your make up and be close to perfection, look wise of course. 3 tsp Sage powder
½ butter
½ tsp sugar
salt and pepper

How The Pork chop Burgoo Recipe Is Made:

1.     Marinate pork for a minimum of 1 hr. in garlic, sage powder, seasoning and salt mixture. Bang the pork with a mallet or meat tenderizer before marinating for it to absorb the flavor as well as tenderized the meat before grilling.
2.     Grill the pork chops until golden brown. This may take only a few minutes. You don’t want to over cook it since it may harden
3.     Prepare the gravy.
4.     Dissolve McCormick gravy mix in water as directed on the package. Set aside
5.     On a heated shallow saucepan, sauté garlic on ¼ butter for a few seconds. Do not burn the garlic.
6.     Pour the dissolved gravy mix immediately
7.     Bring to boil while continuously stirring
8.     Add the sage powder, chicken cube, sugar, salt and pepper
9.     Add in the remaining butter
10. You may add more salt according to your taste
11. Put the grilled pork chop in a serving dish and serve with gravy. It is better if you can serve it with corn, carrots and green peas sauteed in butter side dish and java rice.

Now, that is what you call the best pork chop ala Burgoo recipe! This can turn your date into something really really good! Your first date is one of the most special dates you will remember for a long time. It’ll be a very important event in your life once your date ended up as your partner in life. So, a little creativity won’t hurt. You will never know if that date is the one you will be telling your grandchildren in the future. It is better if you can provide them something close to perfection on how your love story started right? –xoxo Your Sisig Master

Pudding To Give You A Head Start

I’ve been telling you what to do in your relationship for a while now, and it may sound that I am an expert on love. Well, to tell you the truth I was one of the dumbest people in love when I was younger. I had my fair share of breakups and heartaches just like everyone else. But, like most women who had a bad time waking up and eating after a heart-wrenching breakup, I too have had to move on and just learn from that excruciating experience. And now, I am in a relationship with a guy who makes it easy for me to accept his love and give love in return. So, to start my Christmas recipe season, let me provide you one of the easiest recipes that you can prepare on that special day for your special someone. This recipe is the first thing that he cooked for me. I didn’t know at that time that it could symbolize the relationship he will offer me. But now I know. It does represent an easy relationship for those, like me, who were afraid to give in to love. Here is my boyfriend’s easy breezy Christmas Pinoy recipe called Pudding.

20 pieces of pandesal (you can use those 5 days old bread you haven’t thrown yet, just make sure it doesn’t have “amag” yet)
5 pieces of egg (beaten)
 2 cans of condensed milk
Margarine

How the Christmas Pinoy Recipe Pudding Is Done:

1.     Tear the old breads into small pieces. The smaller, the better. (Think about your sleazy ex-boyfriends while doing it for a relaxing experience J)
2.     Put those torn up bread in a shallow dish and pour a little bit of water on it just enough to moisten up the bread.
3.     Pour the milk and beaten eggs.
4.     Now, time to have fun. Simply mash and mix the mixture using your hands. Just make sure your hands are clean before you do this ok? What you want to do is to let the bread absorb all of milk and egg mix. Once you are done, the bread mixture will look like oatmeal.
5.     Get a small but shallow dish that can be put on an oven toaster. Spread some margarine all over it.
6.     Pour the mixture onto that dish.
7.     Put some margarine on top of the mixture
8.     Put it the oven toaster and set it to 15 minutes
9.     Check the pudding if it’s cooked. You want to see a brownish or almost burnt top of the pudding. If not, then you can set the oven for a few minutes again until you see the color you want.
10. Serve and enjoy!

You see, this Christmas Pinoy recipe is very simple, and yet it is so delicious. A long lasting relationship should not always start the hard way. Sometimes simplicity is all we needed for a good head start. Afraid or not, you should never give up on love because once it finds you; you will never know what hit you. And before you know it, you are happy, satisfied and loved. Just like me. – xoxo Your Sisig Master
