Grilled Burger ala Burgoo Recipe - Specially Made For My Son

It is my son’s birthday on September 24, and he’s turning 10 years old now. Wow! He’s growing up so fast! That’s how a lot of mothers see their sons and daughters. Even if they’ve grown up, we tend to still see them as the babies whom we can’t get enough of. I can still see how he smiles at me so lovingly, with eyes sparkling like sunshine, the light to my world that makes life worth living for. And now, he is turning to a wonderful boy, full of joy and hope for the world around him. As the known stage mother like I am, his favorite burger is my ultimate project on his 10th birthday. This recipe is my own version of grilled burger Burgoo recipe. Most would know that if the recipe is like a Burgoo burger, it must be good! It’s the recipe he loves so much and his all time favorite.

Ingredients:
here's my birthday boy!

Patty:
1 kl ground beef
¼ kl onion diced
Garlic minced
3 pieces of tasty bread, torn to pieces and soaked in 1 small can of evaporated milk
¼ breadcrumbs
salt, umami and pepper
A pinch of paprika
A few drops of worstershire sauce

Toppings:
Sliced tomatoes
Lettuce
Sliced cucumber
Ketchup
Mayo
Mustard

How This Ultimate Grilled Burger Burgoo Recipe is made:

  1. In a shallow bowl, mix all the ingredients for the patty. Adjust the amount of spices according to your taste. Just make sure that the burger absorbs each of the flavorings and all ingredients are distributed equally. Let it cool off in the fridge for a few minutes, to allow the beef to get all the flavors.
  2. Bring out the beef, and mold it into burger patties. You want to see a handful of beef on one patty, which is as big as the usual burger bun.
  3. Grill the burgers on medium fire. Before you set the patty onto the grill, make sure to gently press your thumb on its middle area. This process will allow the flavorings to settle on its middle and not spill out of the burger. In short, it’ll help enhance the flavor of the burger.
  4. Make sure all are well done because rare meat can cause stomachache to those who have sensitive tummies. (it did to me onetime L)
  5. Once done, then you can assemble the burger.
  6. Just put all the toppings and burger on a bun of your choice such as tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, mayo, ketchup, mustard etc. I will not indicate the amount you need to put since most would have their own preference on this. Mine should have a lot of mustard with hot sauce, and my kid’s would just have the patty and bun without all the toppings. (Like what I always say, you are always the boss)
  7. Serve and eat!

Whenever you prepare a dish like my ultimate burger ala Burgoo recipe, you should do it with love. All recipes are great, and all have their own highlights, but what will make your recipe stand out is how you prepare it. For me, my style is to prepare it with love. My thoughts are always on the people who will eat it later. It is not how hard I cook for them, but the fact that I made them smile just by taking a bite on my cookings. To those people out there who will cook for their love ones, make sure that you cook it with TLC, and each of your dishes will be like magic. – xoxo your sisig master
